Koster![]() ![]() In 2018 Koerner curated a major exhibition of the South African Artist, William Kentridge: Smoke Ashes Fable at Sint-Janshospitaal Bruges, one of Europe’s oldest hospital complexes. ![]() Koerner has published widely in the field of Northern Renaissance Art, including a much-discussed 2003 article on Jan van Eyck’s Arnolfini Double Portrait. Mellon Curatorial Fellow in the European Paintings Department at The Art Institute of Chicago. Koerner has taught at Indiana University, Bloomington (1999-2000), the Courtauld Institute and Harvard University. (2000) from Columbia University, dissertating on Hugo van der Goes. ![]() (1993) from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and Ph.D. in Art History from Middlebury College, she worked at Sotheby’s London and New York in the departments of Old Master Drawings and Books and Manuscripts. Born in Providence, RI, Margaret Koerner attended the Madeira School in Great Falls, VA, graduating in 1983. ![]()
